So, on this procession the "cucuruchos" use black, normally they use purple. So they are quite different from the others they come from "The School of Christ" (Escuela de Cristo).

incense was originally used to keep bad spirits away, but today the original meaning has been "forgotten", in favor of "smell".

as priests have not studied the story of their religion, they most often don't even know the (original) meaning of what they do.
hell, they don't even know latin beyond a few years after they've started their work as priests.
